Show/Tell Me What Is Kitsch

Examination of the usage of the word kitsch (kič) in ex-Yugoslavian cultural space.
Visitors are invited to use stickers to perform “kitsch” labeling.
You can label something “kitsch” with an actual printed sticker, or with a hashtag #kič online.

Chromapost Sound

Java applet that translates color into sound.
Download at chromapost.com/sound

2600 chromaposts (1 April 2009 - 13 May 2016) are divided into 26 100-day segments. Choose a 100-day segment and click on color bars to play the accompanying sound or chord. Click on a number to get a different range of dates.

The translation is based on converting red, green and blue color values (0 - 255 each) to MIDI values (21 - 108). There are three types of conversion: a single tone (based on the approximated lightness of color), a chord (red, green and blue values are translated into tones that are played at the same time), and a broken chord (same as a chord, except that the tones are played in quick succession).
